4. Data Protection Provisions on the Use of Matomo
The controller uses the software “Matomo” on this website. Matomo is an open-source software tool for web analytics. Web analytics involves the collection, aggregation and analysis of data about the behavior of visitors to websites. A web analytics tool collects data such as the website from which a data subject accessed a website (the so-called referrer), which subpages were accessed, how often, and for how long a subpage was viewed. Web analytics is primarily used to optimize a website and to perform cost-benefit analyses of online advertising.
The purpose of the Matomo component is to analyze visitor traffic on our website. The controller uses the data and information obtained, among other things, to evaluate the use of this website and to compile online reports showing website activity. This helps us identify important topics and continuously improve our content.
The software is operated by InnoCraft, based in New Zealand. The company’s representative in the EU is ePrivacy Holding GmbH, Große Bleichen 21, 20354 Hamburg, Germany. All collected data is stored and processed exclusively on servers within the EU (Frankfurt or Dublin).
The Matomo system has been configured as follows:
- All collected data, including IP addresses, is fully anonymized. It is not possible to identify individual visitors.
- No cookies are used (“cookieless tracking”).
- Users who have activated the “Do Not Track” setting in their browser are automatically excluded from tracking.
- Visitors can object to tracking at any time. If tracking is disabled, Matomo sets a cookie in order to respect this objection.
In the field below, you can object to tracking or check whether your objection has been correctly recorded.
5. Data Protection Provisions on the Use of Embedded External Components
The controller has integrated components from external providers on this website. These include the following components:
YouTube: YouTube is an internet video platform that allows video publishers to upload video clips free of charge and enables other users to view, rate and comment on them free of charge. YouTube allows the publication of all types of videos, including full-length films and television programs, music videos, trailers and user-generated content. The YouTube service is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Phone: +353 1 543 1000, Fax: +353 1 686 5660, Email: support-deutschland@google.com. Further information about YouTube can be found at: https://www.youtube.com/yt/about/de/, https://www.youtube.com/t/impressum, Opt-out: https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated
Each time one of the individual pages of this website operated by the controller is accessed and an external component (e.g. a YouTube video) is embedded via an iframe, the internet browser on the data subject’s IT system is automatically prompted by the respective component to download and display the content. During this technical process, external providers may obtain information about which specific subpage of our website is being visited by the data subject.
If the data subject is logged into Google or YouTube at the same time, this information may be assigned by Google to the data subject’s respective account. This may occur regardless of whether the data subject actively interacts with the component (e.g. watches a YouTube video) or not. If the data subject does not want this information to be transmitted to Google or YouTube, they can prevent this by logging out of their Google and YouTube accounts before visiting our website.
The IHK Nürnberg für Mittelfranken continuously strives to minimize the use of external components and to make their use as secure as possible, carefully weighing the advantages and disadvantages in each case. YouTube videos are only loaded after clicking on a video placeholder and are embedded using YouTube’s enhanced privacy mode.
If you have any questions regarding the use of external components, please feel free to contact us at any time.
