I came to Germany from Jordan because I wanted to grow both professionally and personally and gain new experiences. As an engineer, I saw Germany as a great place to apply my professional skills while also getting to know a new culture and language. I eventually moved to Nuremberg because of my job.

“My Tip for Newcomers: Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. Talk to people, speak German even if it is not perfect yet, and stay curious about your new surroundings. With time, many things become easier.“

At the beginning, it would have helped a lot to have someone explain the many small aspects of everyday life, such as dealing with authorities, finding a place to live, understanding insurance, or simply learning how certain processes work in Germany.

The German language was also a challenge at first.

Over time, I increasingly felt at home here. For me, Nuremberg is a pleasant city that offers a good balance of career opportunities, nature, leisure activities, and an international atmosphere. What I particularly like is that it is easy to meet new people while also having many places where you can relax and unwind.

I would like to continue developing professionally, improve my German skills, and become even more involved in society and everyday life here. At the same time, I hope to keep meeting new people and sharing my experiences with other international residents.
